How To Make Money/Crystite Fast In Firefall

The world economy collapsed many years ago during the Firefall event. A massive chunk of rock filled with Crystite came out of deep space and was shattered as it passed through the Moon's gravity well, the fragments were too dense to completely burn up within the Earth's atmosphere and impacted all over the planet. The force of the fragments landing planetside plunged the planet into a second Ice Age as the dust and debris blocked out much of the warmth and light from the Sun. When the surface started to become habitable again the surviving humans emerged from underground bunkers and caverns to see what was left of the world. Some of them discovered the impact sites and investigated further and found something which was going begin a new era of technology for humanity - Crystite.

This alien material is a rapidly developing crystal that blends into existing matter and becomes entangled with it at an atomic level. Whatever it blends with literally becomes a whole new element. Crystite in its raw form is also an amazing energy source with anti-gravitational properties and was quickly adapted for many purposes by the humans that survived the Firefall. Because pure crystite, known as seed crystite, was finite in quantity it became the most valuable material on the planet and therefore became the common currency for the whole planet. When the Melding covered the planet the value of Crystite increased significantly, despite how it can now be found entangled within almost every form of matter on the planet.

WAYS TO MAKE MONEY/CRYSTITE

Crystite (Cy) is required for a wide number of functions and activities within Firefall. From minor things like crafting consumables to the more expensive costs like unlocking your battleframe constraints. To help cover these costs there are several ways to earn more crystite. The thumpers in this table are presumed to be on a common 50% resource node and filled to 100% capacity to give you the double resource bonus.

Now it is fair to say that getting any kind of consistent average of crystite per minute is going to be hit and miss. So many factors come into play here and readers should keep in mind that this should only be considered a guideline rather than a rule.

One of the things to note is that this is not taking travel time into consideration and the data to form these tables was gathered from a live server to determine averages. Bonuses from Outpost power levels also play a factor here and at the time all Outposts were Power Level 3. When taking travel time into consideration the only really reproducible experiment was with ARES missions since you can run from one to another straight away because they appear on the world map. In 8 out of 10 missions other players were either already at the mission or arrived while the mission was in progress, depending upon the number of players involved your bonuses and the time spent within the ARES mission varied greatly. But from an average of 20 missions the elapsed time was around 2 minutes. Travel time also averaged out to be roughly 2 minutes which means you could just halve all of these Cy Per Minute values to work out the actual values on a live server.

By far the best method of making money consistently is to have a team of players in a squad who split up to run different ARES missions. This causes the rewards to be given to members who didn't even enter the mission however their squadmate did. This may be an oversight by the developers and could well be corrected in a future patch. That said however it is interesting to notice how viable Thumpers are for making money. It would appear that players would be better using a Heavy Personal Thumper rather than a Medium Squad Thumper when in teams as the rewards are higher.

SO WHAT IS THE FASTEST WAY TO MAKE CRYSTITE?

The answer is as clear as day, get into a squad and run ARES missions and retake Watchtowers as fast as possible. It really is just that simple. In effect, grind the most enjoyable content that Firefall has to offer and you'll be rewarded for it by the bucket loads. While writing this guide there was some attention given to Crystite which came as loot drops, but the quantities were so small and infrequent that they didn't contribute significantly at all It would be highly inadvisable to attempt to 'farm' creatures and Chosen for anything other than component loot drops. Because Firefall is continually being developed further we will keep updating this table and refining the numbers to make them more accurate over time.
