About Us

RAWR stands for Refined Armor Weapons and Resources. It has been around since 2012, as an army in Firefall and as this website. In short, RAWR is more of a conglomerate than an Army but in the dangerous world of New Eden any corporation needs to have a well-armed mercenary force.

Origins

RAWR came into existence out of the need to provide information about crafting and resource gathering. During the beta the quality of the resources decided how good the crafted gear turned out and the available resources changed with every resource shift, while the game itself explained very little of it. Kryyss wrote the crafting guides, most of which are still available in the archive.

In addition to the guides, RAWR ran the Live Resource Feed, which showed what resources were available on the servers at the time. The data came from players, who sent in their scan results through Hanachi's DITTO add-on. The-Killer, Pandemic and DarkCisum worked on the code behind the feed and The-Killer also released an iOS app for checking the printer status.

Timeline

In August 2013 Kryyss stepped down as leader for family related reasons. The army kept running and DarkCisum took over as Commander. Later on, Red 5 Studios removed both crafting and resource gathering "to be added back in the future", which took away pretty much everything RAWR was built on. As such there was never anything to recover to and most of the army moved on. On the 7th of July 2017 Firefall itself was taken offline.

Today

The website stayed online and is by now more of an archive than an army page. It holds guides for update 1.7, the last version of the game, the History of Firefall from the reveal in 2010 to the day the servers went dark, the lore, the soundtrack and a collection of videos.

The pages on Operation and Conduct and Applications are kept as they were. Note that the army isn't recruiting anymore.
