The crafting system in Firefall already sits central to everything that motivates players to take part in the many gameplay features and events within New Eden. However crafters will find that the actions or inactions by players will define the limitations for crafting.This is because certain optional components are only available from crafting vendors that only appear when an outpost is at Power level 2 or higher. Further to this components for vehicles such as the Cobra P-39 and for unlocking the last 4 slots for your battleframe contraints are only available from vendors that appear for Power level 3 outposts.
Trans-Hub and Thump Dump near to the SIN tower. When you use them a menu will appear asking how many resonators you want to deposit. For each one you gain 1000XP for whatever battleframe you are wearing at the time.
Each resonator adds 20 megawatts to the total and progress to new levels will change when enough megawattage is reached. Level 1 is the basic power level and the outpost will change to level 2 once 1024 megawatts is deposited. An outpost will change from level 2 to level 3 once 2048 megaways of power is donated. Once an outpost is at level 3 it cannot progress further and will remain at level 3 as long as it doesn't run out of power. This will start to happen 5 mintues after the last Resonator was deposited into the terminal and will continue to decrease every 1 minute and 30 seconds. Players will reset this 5 minute decay timer each time they deposit another Resonator.
Different power levels will unlock different features except for level 1;
If you are ever uncertain of the power level each outpost is currently at you can check them from the main world map, a indicator bar will alow display at the top of the screen as you enter the area around the Outpost.
Battleframe progression now requires additional crafted items to unlock the final constraint upgrades for Power, Mass and CPU. These items can be created in the Molecular Printers like any other item however the two of the components they require are very rare and only available to be purchased from special vendors in outposts at Power level 3. This means that each player has an invested interest in keeping the outposts well defended and charged up with crystite resonators. Each battleframe will however require different components and these are only available from specific outposts.
Not all of the power level 3 vendors are easy to find so here is a list of their locations once they are unlocked along with the stock listings of what they sell and how much it costs.
